Nigerian carrier Air Peace has welcomed the addition of its first Embraer 190 aircraft, as part of its ongoing fleet expansion strategy aimed at boosting operational efficiency and passenger comfort.
The aircraft, registered as 5N-CEF, touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday evening, according to a statement issued on Monday by the airline’s spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey.
The 118-seat jet represents a significant upgrade in capacity and sustainability. “This new aircraft enhances our service capabilities while promoting environmental efficiency and elevated passenger experience,” said Osifo-Whiskey. He added that a second Embraer 190 is expected to arrive in July.
The aircraft features a 2-2 seat configuration, low noise emissions, and a spacious cabin, making it ideal for domestic and regional routes, including underserved destinations across West Africa. “This acquisition supports our vision to improve connectivity between cities while using the right-sized equipment,” the spokesperson noted.
With a current fleet of over 30 aircraft, Air Peace has cemented its position as a key player in West African aviation. The airline reported an 85 per cent on-time performance rate across its domestic operations as of May 2025 and plans further expansion in the coming quarter—including new domestic and international routes, and more aircraft acquisitions.
