Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi on Monday assumed duty as the 44th Commissioner of Police in Kaduna state.
The Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mansir Hassan announced this in a statement in Kaduna.
Hassan said Abdullahi took over from his predecessor, CP Gyogon Grimah, who had been transferred to the Cross River State Police Command.
He said Abdullahi hails from Zuru Local Government in Kebbi.
Hassan said, “His career began in 1992 when he was enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) and received his training at the esteemed Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.
“Since then, he has held numerous pivotal roles across various state commands and units.
He disclosed that he served at the Niger state Command in several capacities, including Personal Assistant to the then Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammadu Batu, and Officer in Charge of General Investigation.
“His other roles in Niger State included Divisional Crime Officer, Tudun Wada Division between 1994 and 2000. Additionally, he has contributed to police training at the Police Colleges in Oji-River and Kaduna.
“At the managerial level, CP Abdullahi held leadership roles as the Area Commander in Kafanchan, Zaria (Kaduna State), and Metro Lafia (Nassarawa State) between 2015 and 2018.
“Following his promotion to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in 2019, he was posted to serve in Kaduna as DC Operations, DC, CID at Zone 6 Calabar, DC Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) Sokoto State Command, and DC, General Investigation, Force CID, Abuja, “he said.
“On his recent promotion to CP, Abdullahi was deployed as CP, Special Enquiry Bureau/Public Ethics and Procurement Fraud (SEB/PEPF) at the Force CID.
“He also served as CP, Border Patrol, Force Headquarters, Abuja before his new appointment as the Commissioner of Police for Kaduna State.
Hassan quoted the new CP as saying that he use his experience, dedication, and leadership to uphold the values of the Nigeria Police Force and foster security, peace, and order in Kaduna state.
