The Bauchi State Amirul-Hajj Team has confirmed the slaughtering of 1,752 sacrificial animals on behalf of the pilgrims who paid for Hadya through the State Pilgrims Welfare Board and others.
The state chairman of the Hadya subcommittees, Alhaji Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, made this known while inspecting the butchering process in Mecca.
Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, said the inspection was to justify the confidence reposed in the committee through effective monitoring of the entire process, as contained in a statement signed by the chairman of the 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage Publicity Committee, Alh. Yayanuwa Zainabari, and made available to journalists in Bauchi on Monday.
He commended the contracting company for providing mature and healthy animals as part of the contract specification.
Also, Abbas Hashim Al-Barnawi, the owner of the company, described the spirit of transparency and accountability exhibited by members of the subcommittee as commendable.
The Hadya sub-committee has earlier announced one hundred US dollars as the official amount for Hadya.
