As Nigeria prepares to celebrate its 64th Independence Day, some Northern elders have advised President Bola Tinubu to ignore the mischief against some of his Ministers, praising their remarkable achievements.
The Secretary of the Northern Elders Political Development Group in the North-West, Dr Adamu Giwa, in a statement on Monday in Kaduna, commended some of the ministers.
They included: Musa Dangiwa (Housing), Sen. Abubaar Atiku (Budget), and Bello Matawalle (Defence).
The group extolled their significant contributions to the country’s development.
Highlighting a few of the key achievements by the ministers, Giwa acknowledged some significant developments in policies under Dangiwa’s supervision.
He said, “We have seen significant development in the housing sector policies under the supervision of Musa Dangiwa.
“Again, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku has justified his commitment.
”He has ensured discipline in budgetary control and fiscal responsibility for the government financial budgetary implementation according to due process.
“In the area of security, the ongoing fight against insecurity under the supervision of Matawalle is yielding expected results compared to what we have witnessed in the recent past,” he said.
Giwa commended Tinubu, Matawalle, and Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), for their success in combating insecurity, particularly in the North-West region.
He extolled the strong political will, coordination, and Federal Government’s support to the fight against insecurity.
Giwa said that the ongoing military ‘Operation Fansar Yamma’, in the region led to the elimination of some dangerous bandits in Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina States.
He, therefore, urged Tinubu to continue his war against insecurity, and support the military and the rest of the security agencies.
Giwa also urged the president to ensure continuity with those that have helped him with the success so far recorded in his administration. (NAN)
