Mrs Anthonia Uche-Anya has assumed duty as the 27th Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi.
Uche-Anya took over from Mr Augustina Ogbodo, who had been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) and redeployed to Maritime Annex, Lagos State.
The new Commissioner of Police promised to ensure maximum security of lives and property, and sought for collaboration from stakeholders in the state.
“I appeal for the cooperation of the citizenry, especially in the area of giving out credible information and intelligence on crime development.
“I am going to work with other sister security agencies in Ebonyi to promote peace and tranquillity because security is everybody’s business,” she said.
According to DSP Joshua Ukandu, the Command’s Spokesman, the new Commissioner of Police hails from Nwangele Local Government area of Imo.
Uche-Anya holds Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Science, and Law, as well as Master’s degree in Law, and Security and Strategic Studies.
She joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on January 11, 1991 and has served meritoriously in various roles across the country.
The CP served as CSP ‘A’ Lagos State Command; Legal officer, Legal Section FCID, Abuja; DPO Lion Building Division, Lagos State Command and DPO Ikoyi Division, Lagos State Command, among others. (NAN)
