The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, says the progress and prosperity of FCT depends on collective efforts.
Wike stated this in Abuja on Monday, in his Eid-el-Maulud message to residents of the territory.
He called on the residents to imbibe the virtues of patience, tolerance, and a renewed commitment to the development of the FCT.
“Together, we can build a society where everyone thrives in peace and security, just as the Prophet Muhammad envisioned a just and equitable society.
“As we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, this day serves as a profound reminder of the virtues, values, and teachings of the Holy Prophet, who embodied compassion, humility, and justice.
“It also provides an opportunity for us to come together as residents of the FCT to reaffirm our commitment to the values of tolerance, love, and kindness that he so tirelessly preached.
“Let us also take a moment to pray for our nation, Nigeria, and her leaders at all levels as we strive for stability, growth, and the well-being of all citizens,” he said.
The minister stressed the importance of empathy and the virtues of togetherness that should guide residents’ interactions with one another.
According to him, the Prophet’s life offers timeless lessons in the pursuit of peace, unity, and moral excellence.
“As we reflect on his example, let us embrace these principles in our daily interactions, fostering harmony and understanding among the diverse communities in the FCT.”
Wike reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s unwavering commitment to meeting its obligations to residents of the FCT.
“We will continue to work hard to provide essential infrastructure and services to enhance your quality of life.
“Be assured that we are dedicated to improving our city’s infrastructure and all other social facilities and human development.
“In the spirit of this special occasion, I also call upon each one of you to meet your obligations to the government and society, and continue to contribute your quota to the growth and progress of the FCT,” he said.(NAN)
