The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says several armed bandits, including notorious kingpins, were killed in coordinated airstrikes on Makakkari Forest, Zamfara State.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said in a statement on Monday that the strikes were carried out by the Air Component of Operation FASAN YAMMA after intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) detected the movement of over 400 bandits planning to attack a farming community.
The operation combined precision airstrikes with ground assaults, killing scores of bandits. “The synergy between air and land components made the operation exceptional,” Ejodame said.
