President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to President John Mahama and the people of Ghana following a tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight Ghanaians, including two senior government officials.
The condolence message was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the helicopter crash occurred in Ghana’s southern Ashanti region, resulting in the deaths of all on board, including Defence Minister Edward Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Muhammed.
President Tinubu assured President Mahama and the people of Ghana that the thoughts and prayers of the Nigerian government and people are with them during this time of deep national mourning.
“President Tinubu urges the Ghanaian nation and the bereaved families to find comfort in the knowledge that their loved ones died in the line of patriotic service to their country,” the statement read.
The President also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and strength for the families and the entire nation of Ghana to bear the irreplaceable loss.
