U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a new ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin, giving him 10 to 12 days to come to the negotiating table over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump made the declaration while meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland, stating there was “no reason in waiting” for talks to begin.
“I am going to make a new deadline of about 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump told reporters when pressed on the timeline for a potential ceasefire.
The U.S. President emphasized his intention to accelerate peace efforts, suggesting that further delays would be unnecessary and potentially damaging.
Trump’s remarks come amid renewed international pressure for a resolution to the conflict, which has dragged on for more than three years, causing widespread devastation and humanitarian crises in Ukraine.
There was no immediate response from the Kremlin regarding the new deadline.
