A 41-year-old man, Sodiq Gbadamosi, and his wife, Atinuke Gbadamosi, 34, on Tuesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged theft.
The couple were charged with stealing and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on March 29 in the Eruwa, Ido area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendants, the complainant’s landlords, stole a solar fan, generator, television, power bank, laptop, and hot plate valued at N2 million, belonging to the complainant, Christopher Aina.
He also alleged that the defendants unlawfully recorded a video of Aina without his consent.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Sept. 18 for hearing. (NAN)
