Dr Kayode Ajulo, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Attorney General of Ondo State, has used the occasion of Father’s Day to pay heartfelt tributes to his late father, Chief Solomon Ajulo, as well as to Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ajulo reflected on the significance of Father’s Day, describing it as a time not only to honour biological fathers but also to acknowledge national leaders who serve as paternal figures within society.
Recognising President Tinubu as a “father of the nation”, Ajulo praised his “political dexterity and visionary leadership”, which he said were laying the foundations for a more unified and prosperous Nigeria.
“Under President Tinubu’s guidance, we’ve witnessed a renewed commitment to unity and empowerment,” he stated. “His resilience and foresight continue to inspire the nation.”
Ajulo extended similar admiration to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, calling him “a cherished leader, confidant and friend”, who embodies the compassionate and nurturing qualities of a true father.
“The governor’s dedication to the security and welfare of our state has left an enduring mark,” Ajulo said. “His leadership is characterised by empathy, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to public service.”
Reflecting on personal loss, the attorney general paid an emotional tribute to his late father, Solomon Ayodele Olusoji Ajulo, describing him as a source of enduring inspiration.
“Though he is no longer with us, my father’s love, strength, and wisdom continue to guide my path,” he said. “His memory lives on in my values, my work, and my everyday life.”
Ajulo concluded his statement by calling on Nigerians to honour not only their personal fathers but also father figures in their communities. He urged citizens to reach out in gratitude and emulate the leadership qualities demonstrated by those in positions of influence.
“Let us be inspired by their journeys to lead with compassion, resilience, and integrity,” he said. “Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, mentors, and leaders who shape our lives and our future.”
