The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), organiser of Zuma International Film Festival, Nigeria’s foremost national film festival, has called for submissions of entries into various categories for the film festival.

This is contained in a statement by NFC’s Director, Public Affairs, Brian Etuk on Tuesday in Abuja.

Etuk said the Festival with the theme: “Storytelling for Global Influence: Film as a Soft Power and Economic Force” will hold from Dec.1 to 5 in Abuja.

According to him, the 15th series of ZUFF will once more project the imperativeness of storytelling as a soft power in driving global influence.

“The festival will sustain the massive domestic, continental and global participation, including attendance, as well as surpass its offerings and impact on the Nigerian film industry.

“Nigeria and indeed Africa’s cinematic excellence have continued to exert positive impact globally, supporting the growth of creative economies, “he said.

Etuk said that the film festival would offer incredible opportunities to further conversations on the strategic role of cinema in soft power diplomacy.

“The thrust of ZUFF 2025 is to harness strategic policies, distribution, exhibition, funding mechanisms and global partnerships that will ensure that film remains a key asset in the interplay of cultural diplomacy and creative economic development.

“Consequently, under applicable terms and conditions, submission of entries for ZUFF 2025 opens on Wednesday (today) and closes at midnight (WAT) of Friday, Sept. 5,”he added.
