  1. <span;>The ongoing strike by teachers of LEA Primary Schools in Abuja is a matter of great concern that needs urgent attention from the Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA). It is disheartening to see that the strike has persisted for six months, leaving the children at home and their education in limbo.
<span;>Under the Nigeria Union of Teachers, the teachers have been on strike over the non-implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage and other outstanding entitlements by chairmen of the area councils.

<span;>The teachers’ demands, which include improved welfare, payment of salaries arrears, and other benefits due to them, are legitimate and should not be ignored. These teachers play a crucial role in shaping our children’s future, and it is only fair that they are adequately compensated for their hard work and dedication.

<span;>The FCTA must realise the impact of this strike on the education system and take immediate steps to address the teachers’ grievances. The longer the strike continues, the more the children suffer as they are deprived of quality education, which is their fundamental right.

<span;>It is high time for the FCTA to prioritise the welfare of teachers and ensure that they are paid their salaries and benefits in a timely manner. The education of our children should not be compromised due to bureaucratic delays or negligence on the part of the authorities.

<span;>We urge the FCTA to engage in constructive dialogue with the teachers’ union and devise a speedy resolution to end the strike and allow the children to return to school. Our nation’s future depends on our children’s education, and we must do everything in our power to ensure that they receive the quality education they deserve.

<span;>In conclusion, we call on the FCTA to act swiftly and decisively to end the strike by teachers of LEA Primary Schools in Abuja. Our children’s well-being and our nation’s future are at stake, and we cannot afford to let this situation continue. It is time to put the needs of our teachers and students first and prioritise their education above all else.
