The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd., has equipped 531 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members with business starter packs and financial grants.
<span;>The 531 beneficiaries were empowered with equipment ranging from furniture-making kits, laptops, fashion design tools, and beauty care kits in a Thursday ceremony in Abuja. Besides, the 531 recipients smiled to the bank with a grant of N531,000 each to support workshop rentals and business setup costs.
Speaking at the event, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, ably represented by NNPCL Group Chief Operating Officer Mr Roland Ewubare, congratulated the beneficiaries and commended the NYSC for partnering with the NNPC Foundation to bring the initiative to life.
He revealed that such a magnanimous initiative aligns with the organisation’s vision to encourage entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.
“A tailor cannot sew on the roadside in Garki. With the full authority of NNPC Ltd., I’m pleased to announce that each of you will receive N531,000. This figure symbolises the fresh leadership in Nigeria—reflected in the new management at NNPC and the new NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu,” he said.
Engr. Ojulari described the provision of grants and presentation of starter packs as a clear indication that NNPC Ltd keeps its word.
