A security expert, Dr Jimoh Ahmed-Ayinla, Chairman of Ahmed Ayinla Foundation, says murder, as a crime against a fellow human being, is ungodly and barbaric.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that one Alfa AbdulRahman Bello, was apprehended by the Police in Kwara, for the alleged murder of Hafsa Lawal on Feb.11

NAN reports that Lawal was a final-year NCE student of the Kwara College of Education, llorin.

Ahmed-Ayinla, a former acting provost of Kwara College of Education, said this while speaking with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ilorin, in reaction to the murder.

According to him, the act is not only a barbaric behavior, but also the highest form of wickedness.

The former acting provost, also the founder of Amina Group of Schools in llorin, called on the law enforcement agency to fully investigate the case.

“The security agents must waste no time in bringing the other culprits who assisted in perpetrating the dastardly act to book”, he said.

Ahmed-Ayinla appealled to parents and guardians to expose their wards to the public when they are suspected of keeping bad peer groups and practicing evil acts.

The security expert commended the Nigeria Police for prompt action in tracking and preliminary investigations immediately after the report was lodged, which led to the arrest of Bello.

The former provost called on the judiciary to diligently handle the case, and stated that “justice delayed is justice denied”.

He appealled to the Kwara Government to do the needful after the outcome of the trial, to serve as deterrent to others with intent to commit criminal acts.

The security expert sympathised with the parents of the victim, and urged them “to hold strong faith in God and accept the incident as an act of God”.

“I pray for the repose of the soul of late Hafsa Lawal, whose life was cut short.

“Students should always report their movements to their parents and peers, especially when they have cause to leave the college premises or receive calls,” he said. (NAN)
