Sen George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, have been scheduled to attend the investiture of the 25th president of the Nigerian Institute of Management Chartered (NIM).
This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs Taiwo Olusesi, Registrar, NIM, on Monday in Lagos.
Olusesi said retired Commodore Abimbola Ayuba would be sworn in as the President of the institute at the 81 Division Officers Mess, Marina, on Feb. 5.
She said Akume and Sanwo-Olu were slated as the special guest of honour and the chairman of the occasion respectively.
“The investiture ceremony which marks the formal assumption of office by the new helmsman is coming on the heels of the election of new principal officers by the Council of the Institute.
“Dr Umar Mustapha, Chief Executive Officer, Mentholatum Nigeria Ltd., and Mrs Ijeoma Okere, former Permanent Secretary in Abia State, were elected Deputy President and National Treasurer respectively,” she said.
She noted that the new President, a retired Commodore of the Nigerian Navy, was a former Director at both Defence Headquarters and Naval Headquarters, Abuja.
Olusesi added that Ayuba was fellow of several professional bodies including the Fellow of the National Defence College, Nigeria and Fellow of the Certified Institute of Shipping, among others.
“The investiture ceremony which will be headlined by a lecture to be delivered by the immediate past Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo.
“It would be graced by the representatives of government, top military brass, professional bodies, the corporate world as well as members of the institute,” she said.(NAN)
