Six persons were on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a car.
The suspects are Timileyin Fakayode (31), Muideen Kasali (35), Toheeb Salam (23), Olabode Hammed (27), Toheeb Bankole (25) and Yomi Yusuf (32).
The defendants whose addresses were not provided, are being charged with conspiracy, theft and receiving stolen property, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Adegoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Jan. 12, at Akobo area of Ibadan.
He said Fakayode and Kasali stole the car, a Honda product, belonging to the complainant, Mrs Christiana Abiodun.
Adegbenro alleged that Toheeb, Hammed, Bankole and Yusuf, received the stolen car knowing that it was stolen.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 516, 390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each, and two sureties each in like sum.
Sanusi-Zubair ordered that one of the sureties must be a blood relation to the defendants
She adjourned the case until April 8, for hearing. (NAN)
