Three men, Sunday Omolua, 27; Samuel Omolua, 18; and Ibukun Oluwasegun, 27; were on Tuesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged assault.
The defendants, of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of assault.
The prosecutor, Insp Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Dec. 27, 2024, in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants assaulted their neighbour, one Oluwafemi Oluwatosin, who was the complainant, and inflicted a wound on his hand.
Oriyomi said that the offence contravened Section 256(b) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Olakanmi Falade, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would show up for trial.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N20,000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Feb.14, for hearing.(NAN)
