A 35-year-old man, Semiu Olapade, on Tuesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing an android phone worth N140,000.

Olapade, whose address was not provided, is being tried for stealing, to which he, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 25, 2024 at about 9.00 p.m. at Olomi area of Ibadan.

Lawal said that the defendant stole the phone was in possession of one Abiodun Sekoni.

He said that the phone, belonging to one Mutiulahi Fasasi, was stolen by Sekoni and subsequently stolen by the defendant, Olapade.

He said that the offence was contrary to Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with one reliable surety in like sum.

He, thereafter, adjourned the case till Feb. 4 for hearing. (NAN)
