A 56-year-old man, Christopher Okunola, on Tuesday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged threat to life.
Okunola, of no fixed address, was charged with conduct likely to cause the breach of peace and threat to life, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Dec. 24, 2024, at about 9.00a.m at Idi-Ayunre area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Folaranmi said the defendant threatened to kill one Moshood Oyepeju with a machete.
He said that the defendant who was armed with the machete to create fear in the community, also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.
He said the offences contravened Sections 249(d) and 86 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
Osho, thereafter, adjourned the case until March 5, for hearing. (NAN)
