Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed his deepest condolences to the families and victims of the fuel tanker explosion in Niger.
This is contained in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Gboyega Akosile.
The incident took place on Saturday at Dikko Junction on the Abuja-Kaduna highway in the Gurara Local Government Area of Niger.
Sanwo-Olu, who is also the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, sympathised with his counterpart, Gov. Mohammed Umar Bago.
He said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the disaster that happened yesterday.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Governor Bago, the government, and residents of Niger State.”
Sanwo-Olu also offered prayers for the victims and their families, wishing the injured a speedy recovery, and prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
He expressed his hope that God would grant their families the strength to bear the irreparable loss. (NAN)
