A 42-year old woman, Esther Olawale, was on Tuesday, arraigned before a Mapo Grade A Customary Court, Ibadan, for allegedly assaulting a man, Moses Adeleke.
Olawale, whose address was not given, is being charged with assault and reach of public peace, to which she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, insp Ayodele Ayeni, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 8.00p.m on Jan. 3, at Owod area of Ibadan.
Ayeni said that the defendant conducted herself in a manner capable of causing breach of peace by brutally assaulting Adeleke.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 249 and 351 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The court’s President , Mrs S.M. Akintayo admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.
Akintayo said that the sureties must be well known community leaders, and adjourned the matter until March 2 for commencement of trial.(NAN)
