Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team B (Home Eagles) will know their group opponents for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) holds the draw in Cairo, Egypt, today.
The Eagles who are making a return to the competition after a six-year absence are not among the top seeds for draw and could face a tough first round group for the tournament.
The top seeds for today’s draw are host nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda as well as defending champions Senegal. The Eagles are in Pot 3.
The CHAN Eagles eliminated arch-rivals Ghana 3-1 on aggregate to qualify for the competition after a six-year absence.
According to CAF, teams were seeded based on results from the last three editions of CHAN (2022, 2020 and 2018).
The CHAN is designed for national teams consisting of players currently playing in their respective local leagues.
It will run from February 1 to February 28, 2025.
