Sen Abdul’aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara) has donated 310 bags of 50kg rice, 16 cows and N1m cash to Christian community in Zamfara for Christmas festivities.
The Chairman Publicity Committee, Sen. Yari Political Organization, Ibrahim Birnin-Magaji, made this known in a statement issued in Gusau on Sunday.
The statement said, Yari was represented by the Federal Commissioner, Federal Character Commission, Alhaji Sani Garba at the occasion.
According to the statement, beneficiaries include the state chapter of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Yoruba, and Igbo wings of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara.
“Zamfara CAN chapter received 200 bags of rice, 10 cows and One Million Naira, Igbo APC wing received 20 bags of rice and one cow, while Yoruba APC wing received 10 bags of rice and one cow.
“The Igbo Community in Zamfara also received 50 bags of rice and two cows, while Yoruba Community in the state received 30 bags of rice and two cows,” the statement said.
Yari urged Christians faithfuls to use the Christmas period to pray for national unity, peace and progress in Zamfara and Nigeria at large.
He further urged Christians to pray for President Bola Tinubu to succeed in implementing his people oriented policies and programmes for the success of the country.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Christians Community in the state, the CAN Chairman in Zamfara, Evangelist Michael, thanked the senator for the gesture which he said came timely for many families.
“We appreciate this gesture which is not the first from Senator Yari at such a period”, he said. (NAN)
