Myanmar authorities said on Tuesday that it had seized more than 70,000 stimulant tablets in Myanmar, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC).
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a suspect at Aung Mingalar highway bus terminal in Mingaladon township of Yangon region on Monday.
It said 60,000 pieces worth 60 million kyats was confiscated (about 28,571 dollars) from paper boxes carried by the suspect.
The authorities also confiscated an additional 12,000 stimulant tablets from the suspect’s house in South Dagon township.
The suspect was charged under the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. (Xinhua/NAN)
