Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja has urged Nigerians not to relent in doing good at all times as they journey towards Christmas celebration.
Kaigama made the call in a Christmas message delivered at the Nine Lessons and Carols organised by Catholic Archdiocese Choir Abuja (CACA).
The cleric said that doing good, service to others, the church and the nation might be difficult but will surely be rewarded.
He urged all Nigerians to emulate “the reason for the season”, Jesus Christ, who went about doing good.
“I bid you, keep on doing the good work, God will not abandon you; when you are working for the Church, do not complain, it might be difficult.
“There is a saving account up there where the lord keeps all that is good for you,” he said.
In his remarks, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, commended the organisers of the carols for the music blend which featured western and African pieces.
He said that the composition of the choirs left no one behind as they included children, youths and adult of both genders.
The Cardinal said that the carol had brought forward the taste of the great events of Christmas.
He said that he was impressed with the organisation of the event as it brought together all the deanery choirs and prayed God to bless all those involved.
Earlier, the Archdiocesan Choir Master, Mr Charles Arua, recalled that the last Christmas Carols held at the archdiocese was in 2016, organised by the Catholic Television.
According to him, eight years later, the archdiocesan choir has successfully planned and held an archdiocesan carol.
He said that the beautiful renditions and performances were arranged in honour of Jesus the Prince of Peace, and for the edification of every Nigerian.
“May our Lord Jesus Christ, who we have gathered to give a befitting celebration, continue to bless and favour for us this day and always,” he prayed. (NAN)
