Nollywood thriller, “The Interrogation of Lotanna”, has received six nominations for the 2025 edition of the Filmjoint Awards(TFA), an event that recognises excellence in cinematic short films globally.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Filmjoint, organisers of the prestigious award, announced nominees for the 2025 edition on its website.

“The Interrogation of Lotanna” is nominated for Best Jury Award for outstanding Storytelling, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Indigenous Film (Nigeria), Best African Film, Best Director, and Best Picture.

The captivating drama, released on Aug. 23, is a gripping narrative centered on ‘Lotanna’, which explores hemes of justice, morality and human complexity.

The short film is produced by Ibukun Serah Adetoyinbo and Oreoluwa Obadofin, with Reginald Jumbo, also known as Grandmaster Prime, writing and directing it.

The star-studded film featured William Chinoyenem, Cassey Oritsejolomi, Anthony Nwahiri, Francis Sule, Michael Embraiz, and Mr. Rala, among others.

The short film had earlier in the year won Best Nollywood Short Film at the Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

NAN also reports that TFA is an Annual Merit Award presented by Filmjoint to recognise the excellence in cinematic short films around the world, and promote the value that short films bring to cinema.

Eligible entries are short films yet to be released or screened on any platform, between five minutes to 30 miniturs with complete screen credits and with adequate English subtitles if released in a language other than English.(NAN)
