A 20-year-old man, Moses Ogah, was on Friday arraigned before an Asaba Magistrates’ Court over an alleged stealing of building materials worth N560,000.
Moses, with no fixed, address was arraigned on a count charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Mrs Chinedu Chimezie, told the court that the defendant stole six single doors, 24 windows, one wheel barrow, 38 pieces of pipes, all valued at N560,000, property of one Mr Chinedu Chimezie.
John said that the defendant committed the offence on Oct. 12 at No. 10, Anwai Road, Asaba.
The offence, according to him, is punishable under Sections 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. C21, Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence and was granted bail in the sum of N800,000, with a surety in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu, said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must provide two passport photographs, his means of identification and electricity bill.
She, thereafter, adjourned the case till Oct. 24 for hearing. (NAN)
