Sen. Simon Mwadkwon, the immediate past Senate Minority Leader, has advised the newly elected Local Government Chairmen in Plateau to be accountable, transparent and prudent at all times.
Mwadkwon, who represented Plateau North Senatorial District, said this while interacting with journalists on Monday in Jos.
He said that with the financial autonomy, people at the grassroots expected the local government chairmen to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
The former minority leader further advised the council bosses to avoid wastages and initiate people-centred projects and programmes.
”I want to call on the newly elected chairmen of local governments in Plateau to be transparent, accountable and prudent at all times.
”Local government autonomy means that all eyes will be on the chairmen to preform.
”So, I urge them to live up to expectation by initiating projects and programmes that will address the needs of the rural people,”’ he said
He also called on the chairmen to complement the developmental strides of the current administration in the state, insisting that the rural areas deserved serious attention.(NAN)
