The Zamfara chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has embarked on a working visit to all the 14 local government areas of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Haliru Andi.
Andi said that the State Working Committee, led by the state PDP Chairman, Dr Jamilu Jibo-Magayaki, embarked on the state-wide tour to enhance the party’s strength in the state.
He said that the working visit was aimed at promoting unity, peace and stability as well as development of the party in the state.
“This is one of the agenda of new PDP leadership in the state, to ensure transparency and accountability in the party leadership in the state, local government and wards Levels.
“The working visit covered Bakura, Talata Mafara, Maradun, Shinkafi, Zurmi, Anka, Maru and Bungudu Local Government Areas.
“The party chairman successfully inaugurated party caucus in all the LGAs visited, as enshrined in the PDP constitution,” Andi explained.
He said that in each LGA, the party caucus would be headed by the party chairman of that council area, with members drawn from the party executives, political office holders and other members.
“During the visit, the state party chairman presented a PDP flag to the chairman of the caucus in each of the LGAs visited,” the party’s spokesman said. (NAN)
