The police in Lagos on Wednesday brought a 22-year-old man, Safiu Mohammed, before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for alleged stealing of Samsung Galaxy X23 Ultra.
Mohammed appeared before Magistrate L.K.J Layeni, on a count charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug. 14, at Abule Osun in Ojo.
He alleged that the defendant stole the phone from one Mr Oyebanji Sadiq.
The phone is said to worth N1.58 million.
The alleged offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Jan. 8, 2025, for mention. (NAN)
