Two men, Ezekiel John, 34, and James Godwin, 33, were arraigned on Wednesday before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly stealing a truck worth N8m.
The duo, both residents of Kawo in Kaduna, are facing a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Jan. 15, at about 3pm at Kabala Doki in Kaduna.
“The defendants conspired with others now at large to steal one Mack truck with registration number KSR 535 XD valued at N8m property of one Clement Frank,” Leo said.
The prosecutor said that the defendants were arrested by the police while trying to sell the stolen truck.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The sureties, according to the Magistrate, must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Kaduna State Government.
